Service and integrity are the heart of what we do. Ivan and Samuel both have a combined 40 years of experience in the watch trade. Together they strive to treat every customer with respect, patience and a friendly attitude regardless of your background and familiarity with watches. With our vast trove of knowledge and seasoned experience, we are more than willing to help find the right watch for you.

We believe each watch holds a rich legacy of past owners, and we are honoured to let you add your chapter to a watch's story and more importantly, have each watch add a to a chapter of your life's story.

Our Name

Ivan chose the name "Precision Timepieces" to honour one of his mentors who owned a watch shop that also used the word "Precision" in its name.

Our Story

Precision Timepieces opened in September 2023, but our story begins much earlier. Both Ivan and Samuel have a long history in the watch trade.

As a teenager, Ivan's older brother introduced him to the vast world of watches, inspiring a life-long passion within him. Ivan was enamoured by the intricate craftsmanship and tedious processes required to assemble a watch. He was also enchanted by the rich stories each watch told, admiring the extraordinary people who chose specific timepieces to cement their legacies and achievements, owning such watches felt like wearing a piece of history.

In the late 1990s, he eventually started buying and selling watches on the side while still working a full-time job. Unfortunately, the demands of his career and family forced his love of watches to take a backseat. Even so, his fervent interest in watches was still very much evident.

"I recall he filled our tiny rented apartment to the brim with thick watch catalogues which younger me couldn't even pick up and rare accessories which he proudly displayed. After coming home from a 12-hour shift at work, he'd spend hours at his desk examining, photographing and tweaking watches of all makes and models, buying and selling them online and in person when he had time to spare." - Nevan, Ivan's son.

Ivan knew the importance of a strong network. By the 2010s, he had formed many connections with other like-minded people and became intimately familiar with the inner workings of the watch trade. He considered some of them his business partners, others his mentors, but all of them were, first and foremost, his friends.

In 2018, after much deliberation, Ivan decided to take a huge risk, he was going to quit his job of 30 years to pursue trading watches full-time as an independent trader, a lifelong dream of his. The first few months were rife with challenges, but he pursued his dream relentlessly with the support of his mentors and friends.

"It was a hard time for all of us at first, but even so I had never seen him happier in my life. There was never any doubt in my mind that he made the right choice, even if there were some initial hurdles, I knew nothing could stop a man like him from achieving his dreams." - Nevan, Ivan's son.

Over the next 5 years, Ivan started making more than he ever did at his old job, he was finally living his dream of trading watches full-time, but he still had his sights on a loftier goal, to open a watch shop of his own.

Samuel's passion for watches was passed down to him from his father who himself was a seasoned trader. Given the lack of extensive online resources to learn from at the time, Samuel relied on his father to teach him the ins and outs of the watch business.

Like Ivan, Samuel too had to prioritise his career over his love for watches, working as a corporate banker for over 17 years. Eventually, he realised his passion for watches eclipsed his desire to continue pursuing his career and so he too made the difficult decision to quit his job to pursue watches. During this time, Samuel met Ivan through trading watches with each other.

After 5 years, the 2 decided to fulfil their mutual lifelong dream of opening a watch shop and on the 16th of September 2023, they opened Precision Timepieces at Far East Plaza. Today, Samuel and Ivan work hard to provide only the very best service and watches to all our customers and we would be honoured to help you as well.
